.In this particular June 26, 2023, photo extracted from the International Space Station, sunshine shines off the hassle-free waters of the Alabama Waterway in a phenomenon known as sunglint. When capturing Earth, astronauts typically make the most of sunglint's propensity to boost the contrast in between water surface areas and neighboring property surfaces.In the 1960s, the Alabama River was clogged, developing Dannelly Tank (the big shining area at center left). Development of the dam also brought up water levels upriver. This caused flooding at a number of factors along the stream. These flooded zones are common of floodplains-- the poor, standard places instantly beside bigger rivers.
